Statistics Canada Hiring

Statistics Canada is currently recruiting and hiring crew leaders and enumerators in Aboriginal communities for the 2006 Census -- please see attached brochure for additional information. Training will be provided.
Crew Leader (4 to 8 weeks) - recruits, trains and leads approximately 8 to 12 Enumerators in conducting enumeration for the 2006 Census. The crew leader is responsible for the organization and successful completion of all assigned work in their own district.
Enumerator (3 to 6 weeks) - lists addresses and conducts interviews in order to complete Census questionnaires. As the main Census contact person for many community members during Census, enumerators have a very important role in achieving an accurate count.

CBC Diversity Scholarship Manitoba

CBC's highly successful Diversity Scholarship is returning for a second year and we're now looking for Metis applicants graduating high school who intend to enter the field of broadcasting or journalism.
CBC is committed to representing the diversity of people and voices that make up Canada. We want talented young people to consider working here to help us do that. That's why we are very pleased to announce the return of the CBC Diversity Scholarship Manitoba.
Four $500 awards will be presented to youth who come from an ethnic or ancestral background that is a visible minority or Aboriginal.
Applicants must be in their final year of high school, present a minimum average of 70%, live in Manitoba at time of application and hold Canadian citizenship or residency. All applicants must come from an ethnic or ancestral background that is a visible minority or Aboriginal.
Applicants are required to complete an essay addressing the question, "What is the role of the CBC in our community?", and to provide recent high school transcripts.
